In Common

Family homes situated in the common.

From an existing cottage to a charming terrace of three modern homes, which will beautifully complement the character of the surrounding neighbourhood, with thoughtful design and consideration.

The design aims to enhance the character and appearance of the neighbourhood while respecting local and national guidelines. The current house, though familiar, lacked architectural or historic significance and is in poor condition, with extensions that don’t blend well with the original structure. Therefore, a carefully designed replacement is seen as the best way forward.

The new homes will be thoughtfully designed to match the style and rhythm of the neighbouring houses, with special attention to how they fit into the street’s overall look and feel. By reconfiguring the site, the project will create two additional homes while reducing the overall footprint, resulting in a less crowded layout. The design respects the established character of the area, balancing modern elements with the existing surroundings.

The homes will feature energy-efficient, sustainable designs, ensuring they are future-proof while offering a contemporary look that blends clean lines and modern materials. This creates a subtle contrast with the neighbouring 19th- and early 20th-century homes, bringing a fresh, yet harmonious feel to the street. Overall, the project provides a positive addition to the area by enhancing the street scene and maintaining the unique character of the neighbourhood.
